Beverly Jean Schavey, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend,
passed away peacefully on November 19th, 2025, after a long and fulfilling life dedicated to
her family. She was an only child, but throughout her life, she built a wide circle of love
through the family she nurtured and the people she cared for.
Born in Detroit, MI, Beverly was raised by a doting father, Val Wiederoder, and the firm love
of her mother, Lillian Wiederoder, as well as the nurturing of her grandmother Katherine
Miller. These examples set the tone for nearly a century of living. She spent much of her
adult life in the Midwest, raising her family and supporting her husband, Forrest Warren
Schavey, to whom she was deeply devoted. Being a wife, mother, and homemaker was the
foundation of her life, which she approached with unconditional love and a deep sense of
responsibility.
Beverly was the mother of Sheryl Lynn, Kim Marie, Todd Allan, and Brett Cameron, each of
whom she cherished deeply. Her life revolved around creating a warm home, guiding her
children, and providing them with the unconditional love that shaped their lives and values.
Although she mainly dedicated herself to raising her family, Beverly also worked at
different times in medical transcription and retail, bringing her kindness, attention to detail,
and strong work ethic to all her endeavors.
Beverly was an enthusiastic gardener, creating a stunning blooming landscape at the home
she and Forrest built in Indiana, dedicating time and care to make it thrive. In her later
years, Beverly moved to Colorado, where she spent her final 14 years living close to her son
Brett. Those years were filled with companionship, care, and the grounding presence of
family. When she could no longer create and maintain a garden as grand as the one she had
in Indiana, she gave back to her community by tending the roses in the garden at Brookdale
Senior Living.
Even as she faced the challenges of dementia-a condition that touched several members of
her family-she remained active, curious, and engaged well into her nineties. Her courage,
humor, and gentle awareness during those years were a testament to her enduring spirit.
She will be remembered for her warmth, ready smile, and carefully maintained looks and
sense of propriety. She was always fashionably dressed in bright colors (usually pink) and
wore her hair down, long, and carefully coiffed. Her beautiful curls were a point of pride
that she maintained herself. Her legacy lives on in the memories she created and in the
hearts of those who were fortunate enough to be part of her life.
She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
