Born on January 10, 1942, in Lansing, Michigan, to loving parents George and Marie Caruss, Beverly grew up with a strong foundation of faith, family, and compassion. She graduated from Waverly High School and later earned her Associate Degree in Accounting from Oakland Community College.
As a young woman, Beverly met her first love, Kenneth Taylor. The couple married and built a family together before Kenneth's passing. In time, Beverly's heart found love again when a mutual friend introduced her to Robert Spear. They were married on August 20, 1966, and went on to share 59 wonderful years together, blending their families and building a life rooted in devotion and joy.
Beverly was deeply committed to her faith. A long-standing member of Thrive Church (formerly Highland United Methodist), she lovingly dedicated her time to church service, including volunteering with the GriefShare program and serving on the United Methodist Charge Conference board. She was known for her kindness and never spoke an unkind word about anyone
Her compassion, strength, and generosity were felt by all who knew her. Beverly had a special love for animals-especially cats-and she enjoyed watching birds from her home. She will be remembered for her warm heart, steadfast faith, and her joy in connecting with others.
Beverly is the loving wife of Robert Spear; beloved mother of Robert (Cheri) Spear Jr., Kenneth Mark (Sally) Taylor, Kent Dean (Sandi) Taylor, and Sheri (Raz) Crocker; and cherished grandmother of Michele (Chris) Oulette, Jennifer (Scott) Clark, Jacob (Taylor) Spear, Matt (Kim) Spear, David (Samantha) Estrada, Adam Taylor, Melanie Taylor, Brandon (Melinda) Taylor, Lauren Taylor, Callie (Mike) Tanzinni, Tori (Alex) Harrington, Lexi (Jon) Killewald, Sarah Taylor, Shelby (Cory) Moleherr, and Jordan Crocker. She was a proud great-grandmother to Sheldon, Elora, Delaney, Anthony, Elias, Hendrick, Griffin, Sophie, Corinne (Darrel), Ian, Gage, Tyler, Ethan, Colton, Logan, Wyatt, Ellie, Tristan, and Rinoa; and a beloved great-great-grandmother to Stone and Jett. She is also survived by her dear sister, Carol McAlvey, and many loving extended family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Taylor, and her brother, Richard Caruss.
Funeral services will be held at Thrive Church in Highland, Michigan on Saturday, November 29 at 11:00 AM. Instate, or gathering time, starts at 10:00 AM. Following the services, there will be a memorial luncheon in Beverly's memory at the church.
