Maralou Spear, 86, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, passed away, Monday, November 17th, 2025.
She was born on July 28, 1939, in Fort Worth, TX to Amos Garrett Cook and Louise Jennings Cook. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, one brother, Wesley Cook Fence, and one stepbrother, Carl Fence and her husband of 43 years, John Cephas Spear II.
She is survived by 5 children: Joe Kelly (Genie) Erin Kelly Dunavant (Danny), Kathy Kelly Keeley, Marion Kelly Feather and Jon Kelly (Laura) and 2 stepsons: John Spear and Jason Spear. She is remembered by 7 grandchildren: Daniel Dunavant, Ashley Rocha, David (DJ) Feather, Miranda Cruz, Jon Kelly Jr., Alizabeth Kelly and Noah Kelly. She also leaves 4 step grandchildren: Shannon Spear, Joshua Spear, Rebecca Spear and Kaitlyn Spear. She has 8 great grandchildren: Caleb Dunavant, Amalia Rocha, Makayla Dunavant, Clarity Kelly, Conner Dunavant, Kaiden Dunavant, Luke Rocha, Grant Kelly and 1 step great grandson Jaxon Spear.
She belonged to quite a few lineage organizations such as: National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution and was a member of Hot Springs Genealogical Society. She was also a member of the Hot Springs Quilt Guild. She enjoyed reading and was a member of the Stone County Master Gardeners for many years. She was a member of Woodlands Presbyterian Church in Hot Springs Village, AR.
A memorial service will be held on December 13, 2025, at 11:00 am at Woodlands Presbyterian Church, 11 Ecuestre Dr., Hot Springs Village, AR 71909.
