Sandra Lee Corzatt was born October 8, 1944 in Houston, Texas and passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025 in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Sandy grew up in the Houston area. For as long as her sisters can remember she loved her God, and she made Him Lord of her life at a young age. While Sandy was growing up you could find her every evening in her bedroom, down on her knees, praying so long sometimes she would even fall asleep! That dedication never wavered. She attended M.B. Smiley High School, where she graduated in 1962. While there she learned to play the flute and was in the marching band. Music was always a passion of Sandy’s.
She started her over 30-year career with Redball, and then later Yellow Freight. It was there Sandy met the love of her life, John Corzatt, and led him to Christ. They married on June 9, 1984 and made their home in Kingwood, TX. Later they moved to Sioux Falls, SD and endured some harsh winters until they retired to Hot Springs Village, AR in 2001. They made friends wherever they went. They made many memories traveling around in different RVs they owned over the years, as well as enjoying a few cruises. They especially loved spending time with all of their extended family! While in Hot Springs Village, Sandy enjoyed singing with the Crystal Chimes Chorus, playing her flute with the New Horizon’s Band and The Hot Springs Concert Band, and pouring her heart into volunteering with numerous organizations. Sandy’s favorite purpose in life was to witness to others so they could come to know her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Sandy was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, John Alvin Corzatt, and her parents, Joseph Watkins Houghtaling and Nell Rose Marie Hudson Houghtaling. She is survived by her beloved family including her sisters Jolyn Jenkins and Vicki Atkins; niece Tammy Vyroal (Paul) and their daughter Haley; nephew Mark Atkins and his daughter Tori; her stepsons Jim Corzatt (Cindy), Rob Corzatt (Genaye) and their children Benjamin, Natalie and Joshua; and her stepdaughter Debbie Turyna (Jeff) and their children Daniel and Katie (Andrew) Budziszek.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, November 25th, at 1pm at Sandy’s church, Christian Ministries. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christian Ministries, 400 Brookhill Ranch Rd, Hot Springs, AR 71909.
