Beverly Lou Swancutt was born on October 16, 1932, to Lee H Kemp and Ethel Schrader in Charles City, Iowa. She grew up on a farm near Rudd, Iowa and graduated from Rudd High School in 1950. She went to Hamilton Business College and graduated in 1952.

On September 19, 1953, she married Delbert Francis Swancutt and they made their home in Charles City, Iowa where she was employed at White Farm Implement Company as a legal secretary. Delbert died October 2, 1989. She is survived by one son Lance, wife Sheila, granddaughters, Alexandra (Garrett) McFadden, Jenna (Jake) Newberger and one great grandson, Otto.

Bev served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Olmsted Unit of the American Cancer Society. She was a Road to Recovery Volunteer, facilitated a Cancer Support Group at Mayo Clinic and another group for Caregivers of Cancer Patients at Hope Lodge. She was a committee member for the National Cancer Survivors Day and volunteered at Mayo Cancer Education Center for many years. She received several awards for her work with cancer patients and was the recipient of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

A visitation will be held at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Home on Sunday, April 13, 2025, in Rochester MN at 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society for cancer research would be welcomed.
