Beverly Jane Bell Vitale was born in Jamaica, New York November 8, 1940 to William R. and Ethel K. Bell.  She was the oldest of two children, her younger brother Ronald Bell was born 4 years after her.

Beverly graduated from Hofstra University, where she joined a sorority "Wreath and Foil", with whom she remained friendly over her lifetime.

Beverly married Joseph A. Vitale in 1963 and they bought a house in Dix Hills, N.Y. where they resided for 28 years and had two children. Firstborn son, Russell William born in 1967 and daughter Nancy Anne born September 16,1971. Once her children were school age, Beverly started working as an aide in the Special Education department. Beverly enjoyed her job so much that she went on to attend and graduate from C.W. Post for her teaching credentials and not long  after she became a teacher in the same school she was formerly an aide. Beverly loved her job and her students, and they felt the same way because they would always come back to visit her as well as kept in touch through Facebook after all of these years.

In 1991, Beverly left her unhappy marriage and started a new chapter that would entail traveling, dancing and going out to restaurants often. Beverly continued to work, but it became much harder once she became a grandmother.  With two grandsons already born, Matthew Steven and Andrew William and the impending births of 2 more grandchildren, Keira Morganne and Christopher James, she decided to retire in 2003.  This not only freed up her time to visit her grandkids, whom she adored, but it allowed her to continue her travels with her lifelong friends, of which she had many.

Beverly will always be remembered for her big heart and warm smile. And of course for being the best mom and Nana ever.

A small memorial service will take place Thursday, December 21st at 11 am P.S.T. at Perez Family Funeral Home in Moorpark:

887 Patriot Dr., Ste H {faces parking lot)
