Beverly J. Watson, 88, of Middlebourne, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 28, 2026.
She was born June 26, 1937, in Middlebourne, daughter of the late Randolph and Zenna (Campbell) Parlet.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Watson.
She married Otis Watson on September 4, 1955. They were married 65 years.
Mrs. Watson was a 1955 graduate of Old Washington High School. She was a sixty-six-year member of the Pennyroyal Ruritan Club. Banking was her lifelong profession. She helped open a new branch office of the New Trust Company of Newark Ohio and later retired from Bank One of Cambridge Ohio.
She was an Avon representative for seventeen years where she received President Club Honors for all seventeen years. She was a foster parent for five years.
She was a member of the Middlebourne Community Church and the Women’s group. She was a Sunday school teacher and a Sunday School Superintendent. She was able to help take the youth and their families on three separate bus trips to the Millennial Sight & Sound Theaters in Lancaster PA to see the stories of Noah, Abraham, Daniel, and Christmas Story. She loved to travel many times to all forty-nine states and Canada. She enjoyed Alaska and the Alaska cruise. The most exciting and memorable trip was to Jordan and Israel in 1986 to see the Holy Land, to walk where Jesus walked, was baptized in the Jordan River where Jesus was baptized, took Communion at the tomb, and so much more.
She is survived by her two daughters, Teresa Hoylman of Beverly and Jolene Williams of Cleveland; a sister, Linda Fitzgerald of Old Washington; a brother, Robert (Eileen) Parlet of Thornville; seven grandchildren, Fred and Paige Kocsis, Veronica and Shylee Hurst, Michael and Matthew Hoylman, and Sarah Hoylman; and several great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Thorn- Black Funeral Home in Cambridge, Wednesday, February 4, 2026, from 11AM until the time of the service at 1PM. Burial will be at Carlisle Cemetery, near Middlebourne.
In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution in Beverly’s name to the Middlebourne Community Church, PO Box 236 Old Washington, Ohio 43768.
Family would like to thank Fred and Courtney Kocsis and their four children; Braylee, Brandston, Bexlynn, and Brock for caring for Beverly and making sure her last days were filled with love.
