Corey Curtis, 39, of Cambridge passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at his home. His loss is deeply felt by so many that knew and loved him.
Corey was born June 25, 1986, in Honolulu, Hawaii, a son to Preston Curtis of New Concord and Rose (Handley) Fondale of Cambridge.
He truly loved family and his daughters were the most important people in his life. He looked forward to taking his daughters fishing, hunting, and to fun events. These were the memories that he loved to share with others.
Corey never met a stranger and made friends everywhere he went. He was loved by everyone and he was known for his "Corey hugs". He loved making people laugh and always brought people together. He was the life of the party because he made people so comfortable. Corey was a natural athlete and enjoyed golfing.
Corey is preceded in death by his paternal grandfathers, Don Curtis and Dana Collins; his maternal grandfather, Edwin Handley; and his cousin, Marilynn Pacheco.
Along with his parents, his memory will also be forever cherished by, his daughters, Karma Curtis of Zanesville, Jude Curtis, Myra Curtis all of Cambridge; his step- daughter, Norah Zimmerman of Cambridge; the mother of Jude, Myra, and Norah, Jessica Scott of Cambridge; his brothers, Chris Handley of Tucson, Arizona, Michael Curtis of Millersport, Stephen (& Robin) Curtis of Omaha, Nebraska, and Dylan Curtis of New Concord; his maternal grandmother, Alicia Jordan of Nogales, Arizona; paternal grandmother, Arlene Collins of New Concord; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held at Thorn- Black Funeral Home in Cambridge on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 4PM until the time of the service at 7PM. Pastor Dail Parrish is officiating.
