In Loving Memory of Beverly Whygles November 29, 1951 – May 13, 2025. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and grandmother, Beverly Whygles, born on November 29, 1951, in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Beverly passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones. Beverly dedicated her life to education and was a compassionate and caring teacher in an Emotional Disturbance classroom within the Las Cruces Public Schools and Carlsbad Public Schools. With over 35 years of service in education, she impacted the lives of countless students and colleagues. She was also a proud and active member of NEA Las Cruces for more than 20 years, advocating for educators and students alike. Beverly is survived by her loving family: brother Larry Hammond; cousins Dennis and Gabby Lation; daughters Belinda Ramos (Whygles), Rose Bulger (Whygles), and Jessica Whygles; nieces and nephews Mary Searle, Michael Hammond, Timmy Hammond, James and Samora Simpson, Tammie Cline, Nolie Hammond, Anna Marie West, and Anita Hammond. grandchildren, Johnathan Whygles, Cody Whygles, Justin Wood, Marshal Wood, Ashley Martinez, Nathan Bulger, Gary Italiano, and Joseph Italiano; and great-grandchildren Lance Whygles, Athena Whygles, Cassie Woodbar, Allison Wood, Hazel Wood. She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Mary Hammond; siblings Gilbert Hammond, Gary Hammond, and Linda Hammond-Lytle; and nieces Sarah Hammond, Rebecca Sanchez, Vanessa Hammond, and Annie Hammond. Beverly's life will be honored in a celebration of life ceremony. Her legacy of love, education, and advocacy lives on in the hearts of those she knew. A memorial service will be held at on at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial will follow at Carlsbad Cemetery (Old Section). No visitation will be held, cremation has already taken place.
