Beverly Kay Yount

Beverly Kay Yount, age 89, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 5:40 a.m. on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Birch Point Health and Rehabilitation Center in Springfield, Missouri. She was born October 16, 1936, in Crane, Missouri, the daughter of Emmett and Amanda (Andrus) Salkill.
Beverly worked for Anderson Uniforms in Mt. Vernon, Missouri and attended the Church in Action in Mt. Vernon, Missouri.
On February 10, 1954, she married Homer Glen Yount in Springfield, Missouri. He preceded her in death on June 11, 2008.
Beverly is survived by her two daughters, Myra Barnes and her husband, Frank, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri and Laura Giles and her husband, Kelly, of Republic, Missouri; one brother, Carroll Salkill of Aurora, Missouri; four granddaughters, Sara Yount of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, Anna Bishop and her husband, Adam, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, Emma Collings and Erin Giles, both of Republic, Missouri and five great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Josh, Ava, Vincent and Ethan.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett, and Amanda; her husband, Homer; one daughter, Glenda Yount and four brothers, Loren, Rudolph, Robert, and Willard Salkill.
A graveside service under the direction of Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home, in Mt. Vernon, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Wade Chapel Cemetery in Republic, Missouri.
