Bill Avery

Mr. Bill Avery age 70, of Wadley passed away on February 6, 2026 at his residence in Wadley. No services are planned at this time but a memorial service will be planned at a later date.

Bill was born in Talladega, Alabama and lived in the surrounding area most of his life. He was a policeman most of his life and was very well respected. Bill was a larger than life character with a huge sense of humor. Always willing to help anyone and usually ran into a friend everywhere he went, people were just drawn to him. He loved his family, Alabama Football and a good rib. He was thankful for God's protection throughout his life.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Phyllis Avery; children, Matt Peeler(Jamie), Josh Avery, Charity Avery, Jacob Peeler and Neal Avery; grandchildren, Gavin, Kingston and Lillian Peeler, Emma Grace Gammil and Layla Avery; siblings, Jimmy Avery(Pat), Bobby Avery(Catherine), Lajean Avery, Mickey Medlock and Nelson Medlock; several nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Geraldine Avery, his mother Emma Lou Branch and a brother, Don Avery.
