Obituary
Bill (Boleslaw) Florek, 64, born March 23, 1960, in Tarnow, Poland, peacefully and suddenly passed away at his home in Medina, Ohio, on May 1, 2024.
Immigrated from Poland in 1962, Bill lived early childhood in Chicago, Illinois, later moved to Oak Hill, West Virginia where he graduated high school and achieved his associate degree at WV Institute of Technology. He later moved to Ohio for work in the 1980’s and called it home ever since.
Bill was a Software Developer by trade, but did much, much more. He was the brightest person anyone could know; he could tell you anything about everything and was wise beyond his years. Bill is irreplaceable both personally and professionally, he was quite literally at the top of his game. Bill was an inventor, a creator, a listener, a lover of life. He loved animals, motorcycles, tattoos, Pink Floyd, Christmas, drumming and guitar, woodworking, cooking, campfires and was the proudest plant parent to his own personal conservatory. Bill offered his advice on anything he could speak to and was always the life of the party no matter the location. Bill had his quirks, but that made him unique. He considered gravy to be a food group, and thought any white sauce was disgusting. He also cut his spaghetti, had a coffee obsession, and loved chocolate and sweets just to name a few of his many quirks. He traveled the world, but the beach and palm trees were his paradise. Costa Rica was his favorite destination. Bill was the kind of person who would -literally- give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it. Bill made everybody laugh, one of his many specialties. He was truly one of a kind and had the grandest heart of gold that touched all those around him.
He walked this Earth with life and love for all those that he cared for. Especially his beloved wife Karen, daughters Alyssa Petitti (Matt Schneider), Melanie Pinta (Drew), his mother Jessie Wolfe (Czeslawa Zak), and sisters Krys Gerencir (Jeff) and Barbara Sharer, niece Aleks, and nephews Christopher, Haston and Christian. Remembered also by dear friends Frank, Dennis, dear colleagues, neighbors and all of Bill’s regulars on his errand runs. Preceded in death by father, Aleksander Florek (1973).
