Lillie Ruth (Skidmore) McCourt passed away August 31, 2025, at age 92. Born in Webster Springs, West Virginia to the late Thomas and Besse (Utt) Skidmore.

She met and married Rev. Ishmald Fulton McCourt on March 12,1951. They soon moved to Medina, Ohio, where Fulton worked at the G.M. plant and Ruth helped raise their family of five. Her favorite past times were garage sales and finding good deals at Goodwill.

Ruth loved little kids and especially holding all the babies. She was a Sunday School Teacher for many years at Medina Union Mission Church that she helped build and founded with her husband.

She is preceded in death by her husband to whom she was married to for 57 years before his passing in 2008; siblings Dora, Minter, Ida, Ethel, Frasy, Doy, Daisy, Elza, Maggie, Jessie, Leonard, and Johnny; and her infant grandson who passed in 1972, Mitchell McCourt.

Lillie is survived by her children Bardner McCourt, Thomas McCourt (Mary), Zelma "Kay" Cogar (David Dowdle), Mark McCourt (Katie), and Lisa McCourt-Kinser (Scott); grandchildren Emily Leonardi (Russ), Cheryl Johnson (Mike), Shelly Simpson (Michael), Ethan McCourt, Rachel McCourt (Ty), Grace McCourt, Isaac McCourt, Aaron Walter, Jessica Walter and Raya Kinser; great-grandchildren Jarrod Bukszar Jr., Hannah Smith (Joshua), Aden Johnson (Jessica), Izzi Simpson, Brendan Simpson, Jaxtyn Walter, and Wyatt Walter; sister Hazel Hamrick; sisters-in-law Geneva (Neb) Rook (Ronald),Jenean (Neanie) Fetzer; many nieces and nephews that all loved their aunt Ruth very much.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 3 to 7 p.m.at Waite Funeral Home, 765 N. Court St. Medina, OH.; where the Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 5, 2025 at 11 a.m., Rev Larry Cochran, officiating. Interment to follow at Spring Grove Cemetery.
