William Edward Fredrick, a resident of Gaylord and formerly of Madison Heights, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on April 13, 1937, in Royal Oak, Michigan, to Edward and Marian Fredrick, Bill attended Royal Oak Schools before establishing his career as the owner of B & M Plumbing and Heating and Fredrick Painting and Repair. Over the years, he earned professional licenses in real estate, heating and cooling, and building. On June 25, 1983, Bill exchanged vows with Aurie Tyghem in Hazel Park, and together they shared 42 wonderful years. Bill held a wide range of passions. He enjoyed music, boating, skiing, playing cards, dancing, hunting, building, traveling throughout the U.S., playing guitar, and appreciating old cars. He was also a devoted dog owner, with Rusty, Angie, and Max holding special places in his heart. Bill will be remembered as the beloved husband of Aurie; the loving father of Sue Ann (Ray) Missar, Robert Fredrick, Michael (Lisa) Fredrick, Christine (Larry) Sanders, and Dwayne (Joely) Valentine; and the cherished grandfather of Megan and Ryan Mearns, Ashley Ashkenazi, Jessica Simpkins, Michael, Steven, Connor Fredrick , Paul Missar, and Troy and Tommie Sanders, and Jessica Carpenter. He was the treasured great-grandfather of 12. He was preceded in death by his sisters Helen, Celia, Marion, and Shirley, and by his brother, James. A visitation for Bill will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Directors, 705 W. Eleven Mile Rd. (4 blks. E. of Woodward), Royal Oak, 48067. Friends and family will gather on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 9:30 am until time of service at 10:00 am at Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Directors-Royal Oak, 705 W. Eleven Mile Road.
