Bill Redmon

Redmon, William T. "Bill", age 74, of Hawthorne, on Thursday, January 8, 2026. Born and raised in Paterson, Bill lived in McAfee, NJ for 15 years before moving to Hawthorne in 1990. Bill was a man of many talents working in various fields throughout his life. After graduating from Wagner College in 1969, Bill began teaching science in the Wanaque School District during which time he also coached wrestling at Lakeland High School. Bill then joined Boonton Transport as a tour bus driver and tour planner and subsequently went to Community Coach where he became a tour advisor. After Community Coach's acquisition by a national bus company, Bill joined the New York Daily News as a routeman and delivery driver until retirement. Post retirement, Bill worked as the Warranty Administrator at Wayne Ford. Above all, Bill was a dedicated and decorated fireman and EMT for more than 50 years serving Paterson, McAfee, and Hawthorne. Bill served as Chief for the McAfee Fire Department and upon moving to Hawthorne joined the Fire Department where he served on Fire Company #2.
Bill was the beloved husband of Kathy Redmon (nee: Seyer). Loving father of Daniel Redmon of Hawthorne and Paula Kraft and her husband Alex of Hawthorne. Dear brother of Thomas Redmon and his wife Mary Ann, Paul Redmon and his wife Jeanne, and Robert Redmon and his wife Karen. He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family for a celebration of Bill's life on Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 1:00 - 5:00pm at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Ave., Hawthorne. A memorial prayer service will be held at 4:30pm in honor of Bill's faith and membership at Grace Church in Ridgewood.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hawthorne Volunteer Fire Company #2, 10 Llewellyn Avenue, Hawthorne, NJ 07506 or to the Hawthorne Volunteer Ambulance Corps, 970 Goffle Road, Hawthorne, NJ 07506.
