Bill Carroll VanHooser

Bill Carroll VanHooser, 95 of Trion, Georgia passed away Monday March 16, 2026. Born in McMinnville, Tennessee to the late Hugh Isaac and Nannie Greene Van Hooser, he was a Veteran of the US Navy and was of the Baptist faith. Bill taught History and was a football coach for 30 years, most recent was at Ooltewah High School.

Bill is preceded in death also by his wife, LaDarce Banks VanHooser; two daughters, Lori Carol Robertson and LuAnne Ellis; two grandsons, Joshua Robertson and Christopher Robertson; five sisters, Nannie Lee Martin, Elizabeth Short, Dorothy "Dot" Gillis, Bessie Farless and Margaret White; and five brothers, Nelson VanHooser, Hugh VanHooser, Isaac VanHooser, Hoskins VanHooser and Haskel VanHooser.

He is survived by son-in-law, Larry Ellis; two Grandchildren, Jennifer (Michael) Everheart and Andrew Ellis; three Great grandchildren, Megan (Bobby) Goines, Logan (Veronica) Ellis, and Austin Burdette; three great great grandchildren, Madeline, Maverick and Alaric; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 23, 2026, in the funeral home chapel with Dr Tony Wilson officiating. Interment will be held, 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Lakewood Memory Gardens-East. The family will receive friends 12:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
