Billie Jean Jones Childress, 94, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, died on Friday, August 8, 2025, at her residence in Dyersburg, Tennessee.
Born Wednesday, January 21, 1931 in Dyer County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Edd Jones and the late Mattie Sorrell Jones.

She was the beloved matriarch of her family, she leaves a legacy of love, devotion, and treasured memories. She devoted her life to her family, taking an active role in raising her cherished grandchildren. Each grandchild will forever remember the love, guidance, and care she poured into their lives.

Billie Jean was well known for the warm, comforting meals she lovingly prepared-meals that made every family gathering feel like home. Her home was filled with the aroma of good food and the sound of laughter.

She also enjoyed shopping trips with her sister, where conversations flowed easily and laughter came often as they searched for the perfect bargain. She was a true bargain hunter, always finding joy in the thrill of the hunt and the treasures she discovered.

She will be deeply missed and her love will continue to guide the hearts of those who knew and loved her

Private Family Committal Services for Mrs. Childress will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Dyer County Memorial Gardens.
