Mrs. Billie Jean Baskins Clegg, age 91, of Colt, Arkansas, died Saturday, October 4, 2025, in Harrisburg, Arkansas. Billie Jean was born in Wynne, Arkansas, on November 24, 1933, to Will and Lottie Dobin Baskins. She devoted her life to her family as a wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker, and was one of the founding members of Smith Chapel Baptist Church. In December 1954, she married Wayne Clegg. Together, they raised three children and always worked hard to create a warm and loving home. Billie Jean is survived by her children, Gary Clegg and wife Terrie of Texas, and Rita Douglas and husband Kenny of Colt. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Evan, Latasha, Winston, Jason, Jeremy, and Roxanne; her great-grandchildren, Houston, Shelbi, Daxton, Eli, Lexy, Candace, Holden, Gavin, Riley, Lulu, Charity, Adi, and Grayson; two great-great-grandchildren; and siblings, Clyde, Joe, Louis, and Peggy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Clegg; her son, John Clegg; three brothers; and two sisters. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 1 PM until 2 PM at Smith Chapel Baptist Church. Services will be at 2 pm at Smith Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. J. T. Baskins and Tyler Willis officiating. Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery.
