Billie Michelle Hill, a dedicated professional and passionate advocate for continuous learning, empowerment, and service, passed away on January 20, 2025. She was 52 years old.
Born in Princeton, NJ, on February 23, 1972, Billie's exceptional intellect and scholastic aptitude were evident from an early age she was reading in nursery school, foreshadowing a lifelong love of knowledge. She attended Lawrence High School, graduated from Princeton High School, pursued coursework toward a degree at Mercer County Community College, and was a perpetual student of life.
Throughout her career, Billie excelled in logistics, project management, business development, and client relations, making an impact across multiple industries. A consummate serial entrepreneur, she thrived as an independent contractor with BMH Enterprise, LLC/BMH Field Services, successfully navigating diverse fields including real estate, healthcare research, strategic marketing, credit repair, and asset management. She was a licensed Connecticut Real Estate Salesperson, passed the rigorous 10-hour process of becoming a certified Zumba instructor, and even ran a marathon just a few examples of her remarkable ability to achieve anything to which she set her mind.
Her heart for service was evident in her work as a Disaster Housing Field Inspector with Vanguard Emergency Management (FEMA), where she assisted families recovering from natural disasters, and as a Field Representative for the U.S. Census Bureau (20 years), where she helped shape the future of communities through demographic research.
Billie's passion for empowering others extended far beyond her career. She deeply believed in the importance of independence, compassion, and success, dedicating much of her life to helping others, especially children. As a co-founder and co-leader of the nonprofit Circle of Community Leadership, Inc., alongside her mother and sister, she organized regional back-to-school giveaways and annual holiday toy distributions in Connecticut, Florida, New Jersey, and Louisiana. She also spent many years volunteering at the Annual Christmas Celebration Dinner at the Yerwood Center (CT), serving meals to children and their families.
One of her most heartfelt initiatives was The House That Love Built, also known as Love's House, which she conceived and spearheaded as a tribute to her late aunt Carolyn Love. This program distributed dollhouses to children in Connecticut, New Jersey, and Florida, bringing joy and comfort to countless young lives.
Outside of her professional and philanthropic work, Billie loved singing–especially harmonizing with her big sister, taking long walks, traveling, working out, and, most of all, laughing with family and friends. Her infectious joy, boundless energy, and unwavering determination left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Chester & Laura M. Wooten; paternal grandmother, Barbara Hill; and aunts, Carolyn Love, Leola Griffin, and Denise Wooten, as well as her great-uncle, Paul Mitnaul. She is survived by her daughter, Keisha Hill (Victor); son, Canai Hill; granddaughter, Kayleigh Lumpkin; father, Billy Hill; mother, Yvonne Hill; and sister, Adrienne Hill. She also leaves behind her aunts, April Hill, Johnnie Hill-Hudgins, and Michael Hill; uncles, Chester Wooten Jr., and Paul Wooten; and very special sister-cousins: Dellice McElroy, Leanna Wooten, Claudine Kelsey, Dayla Simon, and Keoke Wooten-Johnson. Additionally, she is remembered fondly by long-time special friends Lisa Austin-Granville, Sandra Freeman, and Mesha Heard, as well as a host of beloved cousins, friends, and colleagues.
Billie Michelle Hill was an undeniable force of nature strong, compassionate, and endlessly determined. She lived her life with purpose, always lifting others as she climbed. Her legacy will continue to inspire and uplift generations to come. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Princeton on February 7, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations honoring Billie's lifelong commitment to service and empowerment may be made to Circle of Community Leadership, Inc., by calling (239)

Missing you BFF. I still find it so hard to not to be able to pick up the phone and hear your voice on the other end.
I will trust God and believe we will see each other again. I love you ... eternity.

Billie Michele was a very talented (singing, piano, entrepreneurial, etc.) individual. I have many fun-filled, laughable, fond and loveable memories of her. She will be known for being a very dedicated daughter, granddaughter, sister, mother and grandmother. Her wings were ready but our hearts were not.
