Billie Jean Jones, 75, of
Fairview Park, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026, surrounded by her family and friends. Born on December 15, 1950, in
Dundee, Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late Rubbie Lee (Hurd) Smith and the eldest of three children.
As a young teenager, Billie moved to
Cleveland, Ohio, with her younger sister, Ruby Hurd, where they were raised by their late Aunt Annie Mae Johnson. Billie Jean received her education through the Cleveland Public School System and graduated from Glenville High School. Billie dedicated many years to a career in housekeeping, where she was known for her reliability, professionalism, and the pride she took in her work. She went on to dedicate her life to her family as a devoted homemaker, wife, and caregiver.
She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Roosevelt Jones, who preceded her in death. They shared a lasting bond through their years of marriage which produced three children Roosevelt Jones Jr., Eric Jones, and Monica Jones.
A very private person, Billie Jean nevertheless formed deep and meaningful friendships. She was generous in spirit-always giving her time to those in need. She had a gift for listening and consistently offered kindness without judgment. She valued a modest life but was rich in the time and service she gave to others.
Billie Jean found great joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved cooking, gardening, and listening to music. She cherished her Kingdom Songs and especially loved reading the Bible. Though she did not enjoy traveling much herself, she delighted in hearing the stories of others' journeys, imagining the experiences as if she had been there.
Her faith was the steady center of her life. Billie Jean came to know Jehovah as a young woman and remained unwavering in her devotion. As a longtime member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses – Kamm's Corner & Rockport Congregation, she touched many with her kindness, generosity, and quiet strength. She especially enjoyed her ministry work, finding purpose in letter writing and door to door visits, where she shared her hope and encouragement with others.
Billie Jean Jones will be remembered for her warmth, her quiet strength, and the love she gave so freely. Her life was a testament to the belief that greatness is not measured by material possessions, but by the legacy we leave in the hearts of others. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion and faith that will continue to live on in all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
