Billie Jean Martin, also known as “NeNe”, a lifelong resident of Mineral Wells, passed away on October 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on August 18, 1946, in Mineral Wells, Texas, Billie Jean was the youngest of eight children born to the late Levi and Jewel Patterson. She graduated from Millsap High School and later married the love of her life, H.L. Martin, with whom she shared 60 years of marriage.
Billie Jean was a loving mother, devoted wife, homemaker, and a skilled beautician. She found joy in gardening, playing games, camping, and fishing. She raised her family with compassion, devotion, and lots of laughter.
Billie Jean is survived by her loving husband, H.L.; three children: Cheryl and husband James Fisher of Wynnewood, OK.; Mindy and husband Tony Wells of Weatherford, TX.; and Josh and wife Roxanne Martin of Fort Worth, TX.; grandchildren: Keeli and husband Caleb Bonar, Kaleb and wife Karen Fisher, Lacey Wells and Eric, Rachael Wells, Colton Wells, and Cannon Martin; great-grandchildren: Clayton, Grayson, Hayden, Henry, Alyssa, Ainsley, and Amarah; her brother, Johnny Patterson, Ned Patterson, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Billie Jean was preceded in death by her brothers, Clayton Patterson, I.L. Patterson, Wendall Patterson, and her sisters, Ramona Bernard and Maxine McMinn.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Clark Gardens - 567 Maddux Rd., Weatherford, Texas.
