Billie Dean Parker

Billie Dean Parker, 94, widow of Harold John Parker, passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2025.

Born in Rome, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Howard and O'Dell Owens Atchley. She was a retired textile employee and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. Mrs. Parker, aka "Grandma Parker", always enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking everyone's favorite dessert. She also loved going to Parker's Peak where you would find her sitting on the back porch enjoying the view of the mountains or reading a good book.

Survivors include her daughter, Sheila Elliott (Ken); son, Tommy Parker (Kathy); grandchildren, Heather Swords (Andy), Haley Atkins, Nathan Parker (Lindsey), and Kimberly Wright (Zack); great-grandchildren, Nathan Swords (Kasey), Emileigh Swords, Maddison Eidson, Jacob Donnan, Mollie Donnan, Lincoln Parker, Logan Wright, Harper Wright, Penelope Wright, and Chasen Wright; and great-great grandchildren, Scout Swords and Hudson Swords. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Atchley and sisters, Faye Helton and Teresa Harrison.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 29, at Sullivan-King Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. Royce Addis. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Friday at the mortuary prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of choice.
