Townville, SC – Jackie Ruth Lumkin Hunt, 73, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Oconee County, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Josephine "Polly" Guinn Lumkin. Jackie grew up on a family dairy farm, enjoyed showing cattle and participating in the 4-H. She was a graduate of Central Wesleyan College obtaining a degree in Early Childhood Education. She taught many children at Ravenel and Townville Elementary Schools.

Jackie volunteered on the Fork Rescue for many years where she served as Chief and Assistant Chief. Following her retirement from those roles, she served on the Board of Directors, serving her community for nearly 40 years. She loved spending time at Cherry Grove Beach. Perhaps her greatest joy was cheering on her grandchildren in all of their activities, concerts, ball games, and fishing tournaments. She was a member of Dickson Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Alfred Hunt, Jr.; daughter, Christi Chambers (Channon); her sons, Lee Hunt (Beth), and Charlie Hunt (Ginger); her grandchildren, who called her Granny Jackie or Babydoll, Jacob (Kaylee), Mattie Beth, and Clay Chambers; Law Hunt and Sydney and Charley Jo Hunt; her first great-grandchild, Jay Chambers; brother, Keith Lumkin (Pam); sister-in-law, Jan Weeks (Bruce); and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Frances Lumkin and her grandson, Jack Franklin-Lee Hunt.

Funeral services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 19, at Townville Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Donnie Nix, Dr. David Blizzard, and Rev. Julian Ford. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 6:15 p.m. Tuesday at the Townville Baptist Church Family Life Center. Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Flowers are optional; memorials may be made to the Long Live Jack Memorial, 121 Field Road, Townville, SC 29689.
