Billie Lavada Stalcup 74, of Murphy was called home to her Lord and Savior Tuesday, July 29, 2025. She was a native and lifetime resident of Cherokee County. Billie became a licensed hairdresser in 1974. She owned and operated Billie's Beauty on Wheels for over fifty years. She taught cosmetology for fourteen years at Tri-County Community College. Billie also worked at Car Catalog for many years working as an account manager, all while operating her hair salon and selling Mary Kay products. She was a devoted member of Murphy First Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and served on the choir committee. She joined Eastern Star Murphy Chapter #10 in 1970 and remained an active member throughout life.
She was the daughter of the late William Carl "Pete' and Barbara Crisp "Bobbie" Stalcup. She was also preceded in death by a brother William Carl "Bill" Stalcup Jr.
Surviving are two sons, John Martin and wife, Tina of Cambridge, Ohio, and Warren Martin and wife, Christy of Pikeville, Tennessee; one sister, Charlotte Teague of Murphy, North Carolina and one sister-in-law, Barbara Stalcup, of Milton, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Sidney Wallace and husband, Cody, Riley Martin, Ian Martin, Austin Martin and fiancé, Stephanie Cheezum; two nieces, Stephanie McKeon and Lauren Stalcup; three nephews, Brian Teague, Chris Stalcup and Kevin Stalcup.
A Celebration of Life was held at 6 pm Monday, August 25, 2025 at Murphy First Baptist Church with the Reverend Jimmy Tanner officiating. A private interment was in Old Martins Creek Cemetery with Eastern Star Rites provided by Murphy Chapter #10.
The family received friends from 3-6 pm August, 25, 2025 in the Fellowship Hall at Murphy First Baptist Church.
