Luther Reason Jr., 81, of Murphy passed away Friday, October 3, 2025 at his residence. He was born and raised in Little Washington, NC. Luther entered the military at 18 years old and served for 25 years. After retiring from the military, Luther then worked for Pepsi and following a retirement from there, he worked at Walmart for about 15 years.
Luther enjoyed life and lived a quiet one after retirement that included riding motorcycles, and taking care of his family and spending time with them.
He was the son of the late Luther Sr. and Alice Mae Hardison Reason. He was also preceded in death by a daughter Anna; a son, Christopher; and a brother Ernie.
Surviving are his loving wife of almost 50 years, Eunice Reason; three daughters, Stacey, Monica, and Tonya; three sons, Larry, James, and Johnny; two sisters, Theresa and Debra; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm Friday, October 17, 2025 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia with military graveside rites.
The family will receive friends from 12-2 Monday afternoon, October 13, 2025 at the Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy.
