Clorie “Virginia” Reason, 93, Shirley, Ind., passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday morning, July 23, 2025.
She was born Nov. 8, 1931, in rural Shirley, Ind., the third oldest of eight children to Homer Leroy Wisehart and Cloie Margaret Davisson.
She attended Cadiz School and was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, especially making Barbie doll clothes.
Virginia married Phillip “Dean” Reason on Dec. 10, 1954, near Muncie, Ind., and they celebrated 70 years of marriage in 2024. He survives.
The Reasons have lived their entire lives within a mile of where they were born and raised.
They vacationed nearly every year until they were unable, traveling to every state in the continental United States, plus Canada and Mexico.
They have one daughter, Betsy Reason (Charlie) McMillan; and one granddaughter, Addison “Addie” McMillan, of Noblesville.
Besides Dean, Betsy and Addie, survivors include sisters, Beulah Watt, Fern Davis and Ina Scanlon; nieces and nephews, Dolly Stout, Vania Marks, Eve Hawk, Israel Wilson, Starlynn Atkins, Robin Wisehart, Timmy Bundy, Krysty Todd, Kathy Cartwright, Jana Lasch, Brenda Catron, David Watt, Gregg Watt, Daniel Wisehart, Jack Wisehart, Marcy Penry, Gary Davis, Joanne Reger, Linda Davis; and many great and great-great nieces and nephews, and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Velma Wilson and Vuanita Ward; brothers, Luther Wisehart and Forrest Wisehart; nephews, John Wilson, Dexter Ward and Louis Ward.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2025, with funeral service at 4 p.m. at Bozell Funeral homes, Condo Chapel, in Wilkinson, Ind. Graveside burial will be at 2 p.m. Monday, July 28, 2025, at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson.
