George Winston "Ike" Stiles 69, of Murphy passed away Saturday, October 11, 2025 at his residence. Ike was a native of Cherokee County where he lived most of his life. He began working at a young age alongside his brothers in logging. He spent most of his life driving trucks. He drove for Cedar Creek Trucking out of Dalton, Georgia and made countless cross-country trips to the Pacific Northwest. Ike loved listening to country music, whether driving cross country or in his garage, he never turned his music off. He was known as "The Master Griller" among family and everyone looked forward to a plate of ribs. Ike also had several dogs that traveled the country with him.
He was the son of the late George Winston and Pearl Hamby Stiles. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Ann "Beth" Stiles; one sister, Diane Pate; and three brothers, Linn, Calvin and Delbert Stiles.
Surviving are his fiancé, Pamela Tollison of Murphy; three children, Brenda Godfrey, Jessie Stiles, and Billy Jo Smith; and one stepson, Dwayne Almond; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held and announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made in memory of George Winston "Ike" Stiles to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
