Billie Vining

Billie Inez Vining, 94, left behind her earthly family as she peacefully stepped into glory joining her risen Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus, on the evening of December 10, 2025.
Born on January 10, 1931, in Arkansas City, Kansas, she was the daughter of Robert Roy and Ina Faye Morgan. Billie, a lifelong resident of Arkansas City, Kansas, spent her final years living with her eldest son, Brick Vining, and his wife, Rhonda.
Billie married Milford C. Vining on June 3, 1949 in Arkansas City. They resided in Arkansas City where she was a business owner of the Shamrock Cafe, Brick's Restaurant, Accents Too Gift Store and many other entrepreneurial adventures including a pawn shop. Committed to her community, Billie worked till the age of 89 dedicating her later years to keeping her storefront in downtown Arkansas City open and oftentimes would also still be found in the kitchen of Brick's Restaurant rustling up some of her famous homemade cinnamon rolls or chicken and noodles believing "homemade" was always best. A member of St Paul United Methodist Church, Billie's homemade pies baked for their annual chicken noodle dinner at Arkalalah will not be forgotten.
Billie was preceded in death by her husband, Milford, parents Roy and Ina Morgan, brother Roy L. Morgan (Betty) and grandson Nelson Vining. She is survived by her three sons, Brick Vining (Rhonda) of Arkansas City, Kansas, Rockie Vining of Arkansas City, Kansas and Stoney Vining (Molly) of Golden, Colorado and one daughter, Kechia Reese (Daren) of Arkansas City, Kansas. She is also survived by her grandchildren Kristi Vining, Andrea Crandall (Lyle), Casey Hicks, Amy Vining, Brett Vining, Cody Vining, Morgan Griffith (Jacob), Macey Reese (Jessica) and Madison Reese; 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; a nephew Rick Morgan (Marsha) and a niece Teresa Engberg (Mike).
A visitation will take place from 4:00 PM-9:00 PM at Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home in Arkansas City, Kansas. Private interment will follow. A catered reception for guests, family and friends will be hosted by Brick and Rhonda Vining at their home, 6973 252nd Road, Arkansas City, Kansas following the service on Wednesday, December 17th.
The family suggests memorial donations be made in her name to Cowley County Humane Society or Rivercross Hospice LLC, Winfield, KS.
