It is with great sadness that the family of Billy James Belford announces his passing after a brief illness, on Monday, December 23, 2024, at the age of 71 years. Billy J. Belford was born in Union County on October 23,1953, and was a lifelong resident of Lake Butler, FL. Billy was a remarkable man and father who touched the lives and hearts of those who knew him. His laughter and caring gestures will echo in our memories as we carry on his legacy of kindness and joy.
Billy leaves behind to cherish his loving memory his 2 children, Javaris J. Belford and Monique Belford. 3 grandchildren Zaydian Belford, Adia Belford and Aniyah Purcell. Billy also is survived by 5 Sister's, Bobbie J. Horne of Lake Butler, FL, Ella Mae Haile, Latonia (Stephen) Foster all of Starke, FL, Erma J. Reed of Alachua, FL, Linda (Bobby) Alberttie of Lake City, FL. 1 brother Edward J. Reed of Lake City, FL. In addition, Billy also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and grieving friends who will share in the loss of his presence. Billy was preceded in death by his father, James B. Reed and his mother, Pearlie Mae Belford, 1 Brother, Jerome Belford and niece, Angela Horne Williams.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 5pm - 7pm and a Funeral Service in memory of Billy James Belford will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., both will be held at the Archer-Milton Funeral Home, 55 N. Lake Ave., Lake Butler, FL 32054 with Elder Abraham L. Perry, Sr. officiating. Those who so desire to send memorial flowers and cards in memory of Billy Belford to Archer-Milton Funeral Home 55 N.
