Funeral services for Billy Wayne Bennett, age 87, of Roanoke will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bill Calhoun and Bro. Mike Brewer officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30-3:00 PM on Friday before services begin.

Mr. Bennett passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Laws Bennett; three daughters, Nancy Tobin (Wayne), Kimberly Thomas, and Katie Taylor (Kody); one son, Alex Bennett; two grandchildren, Billy W. "Bill" Tobin and Bruce Tobin; two great-grandchildren, Kaselynn Taylor and Kollins Taylor; special nephew, Mike Potts; and special hunting buddy, Jerry "Spark" Rhoden.

Pallbearers will be Alex Bennett, Kody Taylor, Mike Potts, Timmy Bennett, Bill Morris, and Chris Langley. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Tobin, Billy W. "Bill" Tobin, Bruce Tobin, Bobby Perry, and Jake Leal.

A Rock Mills native, Mr. Bennett was born on January 14, 1939, the son of Eudorus Dock and Alma Francis Prather Bennett. He was a member of Rock Mills First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Mr. Bennett attended Rock Mills Jr. High School. He worked at Wehadkee Yarn Mills and Amoco Fabrics and Fibers, where he retired. Mr. Bennett loved hunting, fishing, carpentry work, and telling people about Jesus. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James Bennett; two sisters, Francis Morris and Charlotte Potts; beloved brother-in-law, Jack Potts; and a grandson, Chase Thomas.

Memorials may be floral.

Sweet family , I was sorry to hear about Billy ! We have had him on our Prayer List for several weeks ! He was a special person and had many friends. He will be missed. ! Thoughts and prayers sent to all of you for comfort and understanding in the difficult days ahead !
