Obituary

Funeral services for Melberlene Burdette Webb, age 86, of Montgomery will be held on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Dalraida Methodist Church at 3817 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, AL 36109, with Pastor Alicia Cargill-Chalker, Pastor Matt McCord, Pastor Dave Bearden officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Roanoke with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00-1:00 PM on Sunday before services begin.

Mrs. Webb passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at her residence.

Survivors include: three daughters, Terri Lynn Webb and Pamela Dean Webb, both of Montgomery, and Michelle Lee Walworth (John) of Fairhope; three grandchildren, Danny Walworth (Maddie), Michael Walworth, and Amaris Walworth; three sisters, Evelyn Harmon (Harold) of Lafayette, Joan Henderson and Jane Harris (Ed), both of Roanoke; one brother, Oscar Burdette of Roanoke; and several loving nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Randall Harmon, Jeremy Harmon, Randall Burdette, Kevin Burdette, John Capps, III, Logan Ward, and Gabe Harmon.

A Roanoke native, Mrs. Webb was born on November 8, 1939, the daughter of William Manning and Verna Lee Hill Burdette. She was a member of Dalraida Methodist Church, where she served in many areas. She assisted with the Altar's Guild, Emmaus walk, Prayer breakfast, established the pie ministry, was a member of the United Methodist Church Women's Ministry, and served in the Children's Ministry and VBS and as Historian. Melberlene served as a volunteer at Montgomery Cancer Center for many years. She loved going to estate sales, antiquing, and farmer's markets, and she loved tennis. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed being outdoors, and walking in her neighborhood. Mrs. Webb's family was everything to her and she especially enjoyed doting on her grandchildren. She enjoyed making her children's clothes, making her daughter's bridesmaid dresses, and loved quilting with her mother. She enjoyed traveling and never met a stranger. Mrs. Webb was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Danny Webb; sister, Martha Burdette; brother-in-law, Winston Henderson; and sister-in-law, Joan Burdette.

Memorials may be floral or donations may be made to Dalraida Methodist Church at 3817 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, AL 36109 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
