Billy Bentley

Billy Bentley, age 92, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025, in Dawsonville, Georgia. Born on April 17, 1933, in Norcross, Georgia, Billy lived a long and meaningful life rooted in dedication to family, hard work, and quiet strength.
A devoted husband, father, son, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great grandfather, Billy-known affectionately as Bill-was a man of few words whose actions spoke volumes. His steadfast presence and unwavering support left a lasting mark on those who knew him.
Bill retired from Ford Motor Company after more than 30 years of dedicated service. His work ethic and commitment were hallmarks of his character-traits that he carried into every aspect of his life. Whether at work or at home, he led by example with hard work and integrity.
Beyond his professional life, Bill had a deep appreciation for history and sentimentality. He was an avid antiques collector with a particular fondness for items that held personal meaning. From vintage automobiles to treasured pieces of literature, his collections reflected not only his interests but also the memories they preserved. Among his most cherished possessions were his mother's metal porch chairs, old newspapers from important events and a 90 year old rocking chair-simple objects engrained with the warmth of childhood memories.
Bill's legacy lives on through the family he loved so dearly. He is survived by his beloved wife, "Hon" Shirley Bentley; daughter Joann Bentley Turner and her husband Phil Turner; grandchildren Amber Beck and her husband Trevor Beck; Ashley Turner Ray and her husband Spencer Ray; Phillip Turner and his wife Traci Burruss Turner; great-grandchildren Chase Turner and his wife Ariel Turner; Cayson Turner; Gauge Beck; Alexi Beck; Olivia Beck; Brooklyn Beck; Slaydyn Ray; Kingston Rossi; and great-great-grandchildren Remington Turner and Lawson Turner.
He is also remembered by sisters-in-law Susie Matthews, Nancy Bentley, and Joann Conner.
Bill was preceded in death by his daughter Fonda Bentley; son Larry Bentley; brothers Jack Bentley and Lewis Bentley; and sister Frances Bentley.
Bill's quiet strength and enduring love will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him. A Memorial Gathering will be held on October 5, 2025, from 02:00 PM to 04:00 PM at McDonald & Son Funeral Home 150 Sawnee Dr. Cumming, GA 30040
