Billy R. Bloom, 81, of East Peoria, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born in Peoria on July 14, 1944 to Harold and Benita (White) Bloom. He married Jeanette "Jan" Furst in Pekin on January 29, 1982. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Tammy Bloom, Shelly (Scott) Walker; step-son, Jeffery Furst; four grandchildren, Zachary Schuster, Jacob Walker, Isaac Bloom, Shelby Furst; three great-grandchildren, Alina Schuster, Emery Schuster, Jeremiah Furst; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Billy S. "Scott" Bloom in 2019; four brothers; and one sister.

Billy worked at Caterpillar Inc. for 30 years before retiring. He loved anything to do with the outdoors, working in the yard, woodworking and spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.

Per his wishes, cremation has been accorded. There will be no services. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Midwest Affiliate, or the Kidney Foundation.
