Barry Miles Bloom, 74, of State College, died Sunday, September 7, 2025. Born August 6, 1951, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Miles G. Bloom and Arlene Bohn Bloom. On April 3, 1971, he married the love of his life, Diane Ellen Simco, who survives. He is survived by two children, Jason Miles Bloom and his wife Jennifer of Destin, FL and Krista Renee Breon of Lemont. Also surviving are: cousins Sue Smith (James) and Deb Sagar (Rich); nephew Jerry Johnson (Karen) and niece Pam Davenport (Scott), and four grandchildren, Paige Bloom Solheim and husband Seth Solheim, Katelyn Breon Pal and husband Ryan Pal, Julie Breon and Parker Bloom – the pride and joy of his life. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Bonna Johnson.

Barry graduated from State College High School and Centre County Vo Tech and served in the Air National Guard. He was employed as a machinist at Penn State Applied Research Laboratory, retiring in 2005.

Barry was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. His first love was spending time with his family followed by travel with Diane and dear friends. He always looked forward to spending part of the winter in Destin. He was an avid sports fan, rooting for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins and Pirates as well as Penn State football and hockey, and also enjoyed playing golf. He was the biggest fan of his granddaughters' softball teams, happily traveling all over the state to attend their tournaments.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2025 from 1 pm to 3 pm at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College, PA. A memorial service will follow at 3 pm with Pastor Greg Milinovich officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 250 East College Avenue, State College, PA 16801 or another charity of choice.
