Billy Boleware Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brown-McGehee Funeral Home on Sep. 7, 2024.
Live life to the fullest, leave a legacy, grow and love your family, and stand on the firm foundation of Christ.
No truer statement has been made of Billy "Bill" Boleware. A man full of grit, a man's man! Better known as Big. Big was preceded in death by his parents George and Lelia Tannehill Boleware and one son Russell Boleware. Big was born June 15, 1948, in Bogalusa La and passed from this life September 5, 2024.
He was one of 11 siblings which all have preceded him in death: W.M. Knight, Avis Knight McQueen, Edwin Knight, Ramsey Knight, Dean Knight Jones, Paul Knight, Lee Earl Boleware, Faye Boleware Hall, Bobby Boleware Chatman, and Jack Boleware.
Big married his Junior High School sweetheart, Diana King Boleware. They were married almost 60 years. Big started his career working for a cable company and soon became an accomplished millwright. Big traveled to almost every state in the US and even spent time in Russia and Venezuela installing compressors, generators, and turbines.
Big's greatest work accomplishment was with the Corp of Engineer's installing pumps for the 17th Street Canal in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Oh, the many stories he had to tell, and often he would share stories of his work-related travel. However, Big's life was family! From sitting in the deer stands with his boys, or working in hay fields, or celebrating loud Christmas mornings with his grands, all of his babies were his world!
Big found salvation and fellowship at First Church in Bogalusa, where he never missed a service. Rooted in his unwavering faith he stood alongside his family!
Big is survived by his wife: Diana Boleware; son: Richard & wife, Deborah Boleware; grandchildren: Kallie Boleware & husband, Zack Breland, Blake Boleware and his wife, Hannah Boleware, Kalin Boleware & her husband, Tyler Lindsey, and Garrett Boleware; and his most important great-grands: Paisley Breland, Stella Lindsey, Titus Breland, Hadley Boleware, Holland Lindsey, & Hayes Boleware. Brown-McGehee Funeral Home was entrusted with final arrangements.
