Billy Britton Obituary

Billy Britton

Billy Wayne Britton, born, May 13th, 1945, age 80, of the Limestone Community, passed away peacefully in his sleep, at home, on January 8, 2026 with his wife by his side. He is retired from Weems Excavating after 30 years.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Shirley Lamb Britton; daughters: Lori Jones and Lisa Wilson; granddaughters: Misty Walters (Chad), Kayla Jennings (PJ), Kalysta Shipley (Matt Ryan); grandsons: Justin Wilson and Joseph Wilson; great-grandchildren: Riley Walters, Tennasyn Walters, Mac Walters, Anna Lee Jaynes, Kelsie Hale, Joie Shipley, Zayne Shipley, Gavin Ryan; brother-in-law: Sonny Johnson; sister-in-law: Mary Lou Britton; and many special nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Dan and Roxie Britton; one sister: Danelle Johnson; brothers: Kenny, Jerry, and Jackie Britton; one son-in-law: Tim Jones; and one grandson: Matthew Jones; in-laws: Albert and Wanda Lamb; sister-in-law: Charlotte Britton.

Special thanks to Tim Carter for being a great friend and visiting often, which Billy enjoyed and looked forward to.

The graveside service will be Tuesday at 3 pm at Graceland Memorial Gardens with Pastor Todd Ricker officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Family and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery.
