Sharon Joy "Perkins" Britton

Sharon Perkins Britton, age 71, Harrodsburg, widow of Danny Ray Britton, died following a traffic accident on Friday, January 16, 2026 at Ephraim McDowell RMC in Danville. Born May 10, 1954 in Lebanon, KY, she was the daughter of the late Bobby and Dorothy (Tingle) Perkins. She was a 1973 graduate of Mercer County High School and was a former night shift food service manager after 37 years at McDonalds of Harrodsburg. She enjoyed having contact with all her nieces and nephews, watching television and was a member of the Cornishville Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter Alissa Carol Simpson of Harrodsburg; four sisters Nancy (Steve) Ransdell, Teresa (Terry) Yates, Melinda Moungey all of Harrodsburg and Peggy (Ronnie) Dean of Springfield; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers Gary and Bobby Perkins.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm, Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Sims Funeral Services by Brother John McDaniel, pastor of the Deep Creek Baptist Church.

Burial will be in Willisburg Cemetery in Willisburg, KY.

Visitation will be on Thursday, January 22, 2026 from 10:00 am until the time of services at Sims Funeral Services.
Pallbearers are Brian Sallee, Patrick Atwell, Dylan McGinnis, Will Farthing, Brent Dean and Dustin Sallee.
