Billy Mack Bush, age 77, entered his heavenly home on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
He was born in Jackson, TN on November 23, 1946, the son of the late Robert and Mary Wood Bush.
Billy was a devout Christian who put God first in everything. He was a member of Oakfield Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon being ordained January 23, 2013, until present and also as finance secretary. He loved his church family as his own. He was saved at an early age and later dedicated his life to Christ at Oakfield Baptist Church.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1969 through 1972 and later the Tennessee Army National Guard from 1975 through 1995. Billy was employed with the Tennessee Highway Patrol office serving as a Driver's License Clerk and later as a dispatcher. Because of illness Billy had to retire early and became a volunteer with Jackson-Madison County General Hospital from 1998 until 2019 to give back for all the years of kindness he received from the hospital. He enjoyed as hobbies photography of family and friends, studying his ancestry and antiquing.
Billy is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Crystal Jones Bush of Jackson, TN; a daughter, Tracy Bush of Jackson, TN; a son, Danny Bush of Dresden, TN; and a special granddaughter, Ellie Grace Bush. He is also survived by a brother Steve Bush of Jackson, TN and a sister, Lou Barber of Jackson, TN. His family was his passion, and he loved them greatly. He was the best husband, father and Papa
Along with his parents, Billy was preceded in death by a brother Don Bush and a brother-in-law Charles Barber.
SERVICES: A funeral service to honor Billy's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 28, 2024, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Rev. Mickey Jackson of Oakfield Baptist Church officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens.
The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, beginning at 11:00 a.m. and continuing until the service time at 2:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Steve Bush, Ronnie Bush, Buddy Bush, Mike Russell, Gary Henderson, and Steve Cooper.
Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Brown and Jerry Moore.
The deacons of Oakfield Baptist Church are requested to sit in a group for the service.
The family is requesting that memorial contributions be directed to Oakfield Baptist Church, 3527 Old Medina Road, Jackson, TN 38305.
