Bettye Brown Booth Waller, a beloved member of the Jackson community, peacefully departed this life on November 29, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on February 29, 1936, in Haywood County, Tennessee, Bettye’s life was a tapestry woven with kindness, love, and an unwavering commitment to her community.

With a strong educational foundation, she graduated from Haywood High School and further honed her skills by attending West Tennessee Business College. This commitment to learning mirrored her dedication to achieving her dreams. For 37 years, she proudly owned and operated Kwik Car Wash on North Highland Avenue, where her warm smile and genuine care created a welcoming atmosphere for all who visited. Her entrepreneurship not only demonstrated her business acumen but also her deep-rooted love for the people of Jackson, as she tirelessly supported the community she cherished.

Bettye was much more than a successful businesswoman; she was known as “the best woman” to those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her kind and loving nature resonated deeply with friends, family, and customers alike. Bettye's contributions extended beyond her business as she actively participated in the Credit Women's Business Club of Jackson, inspiring others with her dedication and tenacity.

Her spirit was nourished by her faith, as she was a member of West Jackson Baptist Church. Attending Sunday School classes was one of her greatest joys, a testament to the value she placed on fellowship and spiritual growth.

Left to cherish her memory are her nieces and nephew, Lisa Collins, Lynn Foster Culp (Donnie), Brenda MaHan (Bob), Beth Howard (Lance), and Bradley Booth (Jennifer). She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Hollen Waller; and parents, Albert Booth and Mildred Brown Booth.

A celebration of life gathering will be held 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Highland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Dr. Todd Brady to officiate. The entombment will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of West TN at 1804 US-45 Bypass, Suite #100, Jackson, TN 38305.

Bettye’s legacy is one of compassion and community bonding, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. As we remember her, let us celebrate not only the life she lived but also the warmth she shared and the love she spread through her words and deeds. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her.
