  Billy Ray Cain, age 83, passed away on the afternoon of April 30th, 2025. He was born on November 14, 1941, to James and Jessie Mae Cain, in Weatherford.

  He attended school in Weatherford. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1958. He married Hortensia (Archie) DeLara on July 21st, 1962.

  He served Parker County first as a Deputy in 1969 and later elected as Sheriff of Parker County, serving from 1977 to 1989. He went on to become a successful insurance agent for Farmers Insurance.

  He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Jessie Cain, and brother, Robert (Sonny) Cain.

  Survivors include his son, Tom Cain and wife, Paula; daughter, Theresa Marie Williams and husband, Kelvin; daughter, Kimberly Linfoot and husband, David; grandchildren, Rowdy Cain, Brittany Cain, James Cain, Molly McCullough, Jessica Zamarron, and Anna Ramirez; and several great-grandchildren.

  Those we love don't go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and held so dear.

  A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at East Greenwood Cemetery, in Weatherford, Texas. A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford, Texas.

  In lieu of flowers, the family would be honored for donations to be made to Wounded Warrior Project in Billy's name or a charity of one's choosing.
