William "Billy" Cissell, 26, of Bloomington, IN, passed away suddenly on June 5th, 2021. Billy was born on December 10th, 1994 to Megan (Cissell) Short and Brent Dodson.
Billy graduated from Brown County High School in 2013 where he played trumpet for four plus years in marching band.
Billy had an amazing, creative talent and anyone who knew him, knew his love for painting and graffiti. He also enjoyed writing and journaling. He had a love for all genres of music and was even a part of a rap music group – December's Finest – after high school.
The most important parts in Billy's life were his family, his friends and his girlfriend, Theresa. Occasionally he could be found playing disc gold with his dad, video games with his younger brothers and uncles, talking with his momma, or hanging with his friends. He would also spend his spare time with Theresa and her son Clinton at the park, going to eat, or just hanging out. Billy loved all of sibling fierce-fully and was always being the protective older brother. He enjoyed spending time with his little sisters; sharing funny videos, watching movies, and going for drives with no destination.
Billy was happiest with his sweet daughter, Nova. She was all the stars in his universe and made his life complete.
Billy had the most contagious smile with giant dimples and a heart of gold that was bigger than this world. Everyone that described Billy mentions his bright smile, his iconic laugh, big hugs, and his endless jokes. He was the life of every party and always made sure everyone was smiling and having a good time no matter how tough the moment was. Billy had such an impact on so many people. He never met a stranger. He always went out his way to make sure everyone he met or even just passed by felt acknowledged and always made sure everyone was treated as if they were a friend.
Billy is survived by his parents, Megan (Johnny) Short, Brent (Sarah) Dodson; daughter, Nova Cissell; girlfriend, Theresa Thomas and son Clinton; siblings, Courtney Short, Destiny Harte, Tamara Pearcy, Emma Dodson, Ethan Scott, Landon Scott, Katie Burns, James (Buster) Burns, and Payton Short; grandparents, Mike and Mary Kay Frick; six uncles; one aunt; three nephews; two nieces; and lots and lots of cousins.
Billy was preceded in death by grandparents, William Cissell and Sandra (Cissell) Harding; great-grandparents, John and Betty Kashman and Betty Frick; and aunt Patricia (Sorrell) Frick.
