Billy Dean Cook of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully and entered his heavenly home on February 12, 2025. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend, and man of unwavering faith. He was born on January 31, 1932, to Melvin and Ines Cook in Graham, Oklahoma. He was a beloved brother to Don Ray Cook, his wife Kay, and his late brother, Louis Cook.
Billy's greatest joy in life was his family. He is survived by his three children, DeAnna, Renee, and Dale, as well as six grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. He led his family with love, strength, wisdom, and hard work, leaving a legacy of faith and devotion.
A man of deep conviction, Billy was a co-vocational pastor, deacon, and Sunday school teacher who loved studying and teaching the Bible. His love for the Lord was clear in his words, actions, and how he treated others with kindness, humility, and grace. He firmly believed in investing deeply in family, saying, "You go to your job all day to provide for your family, but the real work begins when you get home to lead them."
Billy was known for his strong work ethic and for sharing wisdom like, "You don't call in sick; you crawl in sick." He was not only a hard worker but also an innovator, an entrepreneur, and a provider. His dedication extended beyond his career into every aspect of his life.
He loved fishing, golfing, and baseball and rarely missed a good game on TV. Whether cheering for his favorite teams or catching up on daily Fox News, he enthusiastically and joyfully embraced life's simple pleasures.
With a radiant smile and a playful spirit, Billy had a way of teasing those around him to get a rise-always with love and laughter. With a twinkle in his eye and a heart full of love, he was onery to the core, always ready with a joke or a playful tease, yet always there with a helping hand and an encouraging word.
While we mourn his passing, we rejoice that his Savior has welcomed him into heaven. He undoubtedly heard, "Well done, good and faithful servant." He joins loved ones before him, including those he led to Christ through his life and ministry.
Billy's impact will live on in the hearts and lives of his family, church, and all who knew him. His life was well-lived, filled with faith, love, and purpose.
