Claudia Mae "Privett" Ferrer passed peacefully on August 30, 2025 at Fountainbrook Assisted Living in Midwest City, Oklahoma after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease.

She was born December 2, 1932 in Norman, Oklahoma to Ralph and Eva Mae "Scott" Privett. She then grew up in Purcell, Oklahoma. At the age of 16, while working with her grandmother in the Student Union Cafeteria at the University of Oklahoma, Claudia met Gonzalo "Chino" Ferrer. It was love at first sight. After a short courtship, they were married November 26, 1949 in San Angelo, TX. They would have celebrated 76 years of marriage this November.

Gonzalo and Claudia lived and raised five children in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Claudia was a homemaker and also worked as an RN for 10 years. She was a cancer survivor. She mentored many as a member of AA. She was an avid birdwatcher and enjoyed feeding birds and chasing off the squirrels that tried to take their food. She also enjoyed collecting unusual feathers and rocks. She loved to spend time growing flowers, many of which were rare and unusual.

Claudia was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Eva Mae "Scott" Privett; her brothers, Francis and Paul Edward Privett; and her sister, Maxine Valedon.

She is survived by her husband and five children – daughter Claudia Victoria "Vicky" Helm and husband Charles of Houston, TX, son Michael of Midwest City, daughter Maria Teresita "Terry" Hennessee and husband Dale of Oklahoma City, son Mario of Oklahoma City, and son Paul and wife Helen of Oklahoma City. She is also survived by grandchildren Michelle Helm, Brendan Ferrer, Melissa Newman, Jessica Williams, Jason Hennessee, Suzanne Ferrer, and Stephanie Ferrer, as well as 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter. Claudia will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Internment will be at the IOOF Cemetery in Norman, OK on September 3, 2025 at 1pm. There will be a short graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Alzheimer's Association of American Cancer Society.

I will always remember the day I met Claudia and Gonzalo. They were both so sweet to me, and welcomed me into their family long before I married their "baby boy" Paul. I´m glad she is no longer suffering, but will miss her mischievous smile.
