Dolores B. Ferrer, 84, of Glassboro, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2025. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Estella Robinson Elliott. A proud graduate of Glassboro High School, Dolores went on to earn her Master's Degree in Education from Glassboro State College. Her career as an educator and advocate spanned decades. She retired from Creative Achievements in Vineland, where she worked as a devoted teacher. Prior to that, she taught at Delsea Regional High School and served as the chairman and coordinator for the state funding of the Title 1 Program. Dolores also worked as a social worker for Gloucester County Social Services. She and her beloved husband, Primitivo, dedicated themselves to their community, especially through their work with the Glassboro Board of Education and the CATA Program, where they taught migrant farm workers at Glassboro High School. Earlier in her life, Dolores worked as a seamstress at Anette's Shop. Dolores was a passionate community activist and a lifelong learner who loved studying history and archaeology. She was the family's storyteller, always eager to share wisdom, laughter, and above all, her deep love for the Lord. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a very young age and lived her life accordingly. Known for her generosity, Dolores fed anyone and everyone who came through her door. She is survived by her loving husband, Primitivo, and their children: Lorenza Rodriguez (Hermanio), Felicita Johns (William), Primitivo Jr. (Alexis), Hector (Tawana), Orlando (Tonya), Cristina Hamilton (Billy), Eric Ferrer, Anthony Ferrer, Jonathan Ferrer, and Carlos Ferrer (Tamaria). She also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Dolores was predeceased by two of her children, Dolores and Miguel; three grandchildren, Sade, Terrence, and Felicita; two great-great-grandchildren, Makayla and Pasia; and two daughters-in-law, Arlene and Diane Ferrer. Services will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025, at Redeeming Word Church, 5 Redmond Ave., Glassboro, NJ 08028. A viewing will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by the service at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Redeeming Word Church in Dolores's memory.
