Billy Joe Davidson, known to his family and close friends as "Billy Joe" or "Scott," was born on September 18, 1949, in Lufkin, TX. Bill passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on August 17, 2025.
Bill grew up in Port Lavaca, TX where he attended Calhoun High School. After school he enlisted in the US Army where he served on the front lines of Vietnam from 69-72.
Bill had a distinguished career as a Service Technician at Del Packaging, where he worked for 20 years allowing him to travel the world on service calls.
Bill was a devoted husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather.
He had a passion for bow hunting and fishing and especially loved catching red fish. His love for nature was shared with his kids and Grandkids who all have fond memories of time spent fishing on a lake or ocean with him. Bill's life, like a good fishing trip, was filled with both calm waters and challenging currents, but he navigated them with grace and resilience.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Kay Davidson (48 years); their two daughters, Jennifer "Buddy" Jenkins (Josh Hammersly) and Lorie Ellen Mullins (Dwight); his Sister, Barbara Russell; niece, Amanda Gonzales; nephew, Jeremy Lemke (Rachelle); 5 Grandsons, Joshua Easterly (Reghan), Jerry Scott (Kaitlyn), Garrett Scott, Kendall Mullins (Kaitlyn), Bailey Mullins (Kelsey), 5 Great-Granddaughters, and numerous cousins.
Bill is preceded in death by his Granddaughter Savanna Scott; his Mother, Nettie Keen Hoyer; Dad, Erwin Hoyer; his Father, Hubert A Davidson; Brother, James A Davidson; Sister, Jeannie Pauly; Brother-in-laws, Oscar Shelton Haynes Jr, Dale Russell and Vick Pauly and numerous loving Grandparents and other relatives.
A memorial service will be held at Grace Funeral Chapel, 1604 W. Austin St. in Port Lavaca on August 29, 2025, at 11am.
