Billy Joe Edwards

Billy Joe "BJ" Edwards, 89 of Magnolia, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at Summit Health and Rehab in Taylor, Arkansas.
BJ was born, June 24, 1934, in Athens, Louisiana to the late Aulton William Edwards and Claudia Gray Edwards. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958, the Arkansas National Guard from 1976 to 1992, and was retired as rural mail carrier for the United State Postal Service. BJ like to hunt, fish and tinker with old cars in his spare time.
BJ is preceded in death by his parents, son Kevin Edwards, brother James Edwards, brother in law Rodney Maloch; sisters in law Bobbie Edwards and Jean Edwards, and the mother of his children, Jeanette Edwards.
BJ is survived by his children, Cathy and Charles Covington of Magnolia, Tanya and Billy Lewis of Little Rock, and Steve and Sheryl Edwards of Magnolia; grandchildren, Dayla Langley, Taryn Covington King and husband Cameron; Lauren Johnston, Ben and Hannah Lewis, Bert Lewis, Seth Edwards, and Sydney Edwards; great grandchildren, Jett King, Corbin Hatfield, and Harley Langley; brothers, Fred Edwards, Sr., Buddy Edwards; sister Ura Vay "Sissy" Maloch; sister in law Elizabeth Edwards; and a host of extended family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 27, 2023, at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Joe Owens officiating under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. Visitation with the family will be Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dee West, Ed Nipper, and Bascom Jones.
