Billy Ray Gamblin, 63, of Maud, Oklahoma, passed away at his residence on Monday, June 9, 2025.

He was born on November 11, 1961, in Muskogee, Oklahoma at the Muskogee Baptist Hospital, the son of William Franklin Gamblin and Pearl Omeda (Applegate) Gamblin.

Billy attended the Checotah Public School District. He was a member of the Checotah First Baptist Church. In his free time, he took joy in reading, playing the drums and cheering on the Oklahoma Sooners.

He is survived by his sister, Mary Spirlock and her husband, Curtis of Checotah; his niece, Angela Reasor and her husband, Todd of Checotah; his nephew, Mike Todd of Checotah; his niece, Laura Gamblin of Stigler; his nephew, Jimmy Gamblin of Checotah; his niece, Mary Sides and her husband, Billy of Warner; his niece, Heather Baldwin and her husband, David of Checotah and his aunt, Yvonne Gamblin of Muskogee.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, William and Pearl Gamblin; his brother, James Gamblin and his wife, Louretta; his sister, Betty Todd and her husband, Franklin and a nephew, Barry Spirlock.

The family will greet friends from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Hunn Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Checotah. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at Greenlawn Cemetery in Checotah. Interment will follow.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Hunn Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 211 W. Okmulgee St., Checotah, Oklahoma 74426.
