Billy Dean Garretson, 86, gained his heavenly wings on October 20, 2025. Dean was born September 20, 1939, and was a lifetime resident of Morristown. He worked for many years as an upholsterer in the area.
Dean was saved at an early age at Fairfield Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Lochiel K. Garretson; parents, Horace and Myrtle Snyder Garretson; brother, Thomas Garretson; sisters, Ruby Jo Garretson and Mary Ella Long; grandsons, Seth Garretson and Brently Bullington; brother-in-law, Lewis Long.
He is survived by his children, Chris Garretson (Donna Welch), Westley (Pam) Garretson, Kaella (Dexter) Morris; step-children, Rhonda (Ronald) Williams, Greg (Patricia) McElroy; grandchildren, Chad and Chayme Garretson, Blake (Heather) Garretson, Zak (Brianna) Garretson T.T. (Amanda) Garretson, Kadron Bullington, Lance (Tori) Bullington, Brooklyn (Gabriel) Siples, Alexis and Calaeb Reed; step-grandchildren, Jamie, Aidan, and McKenzie McElroy and Christy Peavler; great-grandchildren, Allyson Houchins, Aliah Garretson, Zayden, Zeeland, Zander, Zyleigh, Zion, Kambree, Kallum, Millie and Myah Garretson, Knoxlee and Renlee Bullington, and Colter Avery Siples. Special friends, Veronica Lopez and Jeannie Weldon.
The family would like to thank the staff of Gentiva Hospice for the wonderful care given to not only Dean but his family during this time of need. Special nurses whom he loved dearly, Kennedy Asbury, Tabby Fleenor and CNA Joann Cox for their kindness and love they showed Dean.
Graveside services are planned for 11:00 AM, Friday, October 24, 2025, in Historic Bethesda Cemetery with Reverend Don Lamb officiating.
Allen Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
