Billy Gene Gobble

Billy Gene Gobble, age 82, of the Moccasin section of Lebanon, Va., passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. He was born on November 18, 1942, in Russell County, Va., the son of the late Floyd and Cresy Kennedy Gobble.
He loved serving the Lord and was pastor of his church for 23 years. He enjoyed farming, working in his greenhouse and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Gobble.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Dorothy Ray Gobble; sons, Billy D. Gobble and wife Mary, Sammy Gobble and wife Peggy, and Bobby Gobble; daughters, Brenda Helbert and husband Paul, Debbie Hess and husband Kevin, all of Lebanon, and Bonnie Gore and husband Dewey of Bristol, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; precious dogs, Frisky and Puppy.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2025, in the Owens Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Roger Reynolds and Rev. Ray Bowman officiating.
Pallbearers will be Ben Gobble, Shawn Gobble, David Dunford, Jordon Wilson, Andrew Manuel, Bubby Helbert, and Sam Gobble.
Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Hess, Paul Helbert and Jacob Owens.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, at the Gobble Family Cemetery in Moccasin.
The family will receive friends on Friday, at the funeral home, from 6 until 8 p.m.
