LEBANON, VIRGINIA – Mrs. Virginia "Jennie" Lee Farmer, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
She was married for 59 years to her loving husband, the late Garry Dale Farmer. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Mae Hooker; her brothers, Jody Hooker, Kenneth Hooker, and Barry Lynn Hooker; her sister, Mary Jean Wilson; and her grandson, Joseph Farmer.
In addition to her devoted sons, Byron Farmer of Lebanon, and Shane Farmer and wife Jane of Lebanon, she is survived by her grandchildren, Logan Farmer and A.J. Farmer both of Lebanon and Sam Farmer and wife Terra of Knoxville, Tenn.; her great-grandchildren, Paisley, Griffin, and Canaan; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will cherish her memory.
Virginia was a dedicated nurse at Russell County Medical Center for over 40 years, where she served her patients and community with compassion and care.
Pallbearers will be Brian Hooker, Travis Hooker, Richie Hooker, Kevin Farmer, Chuck Farmer, John Ball, Michael Ball, and Dipper Stallard.
Honorary pallbearers will be Colbey Smith, Dan Ball, Jim Fields, Arthur Smith, and Gene Kiser.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Lebanon Community Fellowship with Pastor Justin Honaker officiating.
Entombment will follow at Ketron Memorial Gardens in Lebanon.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Friday, at the church prior to the service.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Abingdon Health & Rehabilitation Center for their care and kindness.
